Mission
The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The Foundation is a not-for profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share in its vision of a better world.
Contributions
Contributions to the Annual Programs Fund through the Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) initiative are the primary source of funding for Foundation programs, which cover more than 160 countries and geographical areas on seven continents. From digging water wells for villages in Africa to teaching basic literacy skills to children in Latin America, during any given moment thousands of Rotarians volunteer their time and expertise. All contributions to the Annual Programs Fund are spent wisely on quality Rotary projects.
Polio Eradication
The Rotary Foundation has had a long-term involvement in the worldwide effort to eradicate Polio. After 20 years of hard work Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. Your contribution will help Rotary raise $200 million to match the $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk.
Recognition
Your donation can mean a world of difference. If you give $100 (US) per year through EREY, you automatically become a Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member. By donating $1000 (US) or more you can become a Paul Harris Fellow.
